Lighting the Path: A Journey of Resilience & Passion

Shan & Co. was born out of both necessity and passion, a story of turning struggle into something beautiful.

During my university years, I faced an overwhelming challenge—tuition fees were piling up, and my parents couldn’t afford them. I had been doing graphic design to make ends meet, but it wasn’t enough to sustain me or my education. When the first lockdown happened, I went to stay at my sister’s home, where I noticed her deep love for candles. That simple observation sparked a thought:

“What could I create with my hands to supplement my income?”

With no qualifications for a traditional job and a strong desire to create, the idea of candle-making took hold of me. But I had no capital, no experience—just a dream. A year passed before I could take my first step, and the financial pressure only increased when I transferred to another university. That’s when I knew I had to act.

I spent months researching and experimenting, and when I finally made my first few candles, something changed. It was no longer just about survival—it became a passion. I fell in love with the process, the scents, the craftsmanship, and the ability to create something that brings warmth, comfort, and self-care into people’s lives.

Today, Shan & Co. stands for more than just candles or home fragrance. It represents resilience, growth, and the belief that something beautiful can emerge from struggle. Every scent is carefully crafted, not just to fill a space with fragrance, but to create moments of peace, self-care, and luxury.

This journey has been about more than me—it’s about everyone who has ever faced obstacles and turned them into opportunities. And every time you light a Shan & Co. candle, you become part of that story.
